Woodlands Primary School, Skelmersdale

We had a lovely 3 days working with the children of Woodlands. We spent 2 days outside in the frost and sunshine creative a living willow tunnel and dome. On day 3 we worked indoors and made a Wishing Tree and giant sunshine! Children from all year groups helped with the weaving and Simone made Star Wands for the youngest.

More Willow Domes

We will be building more willow domes over the next few weeks using willow from our Gatebeck willow garden.

Living Willow 2015

We have already worked with a few schools this year making living willow structures. The pictures below are from the horticultural college in Mold, North Wales where the students helped to tame a willow project created in 2003. The willows had not been touched for a couple of years and needed a major overhaul! We worked for 2 days in wind, rain and snow!!
