Weekend Events

Just got back from attending 2 events over the bank holiday. On Saturday we had a display and drop-in deer weaving session at Sandridge, Herts for the Woodland Trust at their event to celebrate their new wood near St Albans.
On Monday we took part in another woodland event, The Wood Fair for the National Forest near Leicester. Steve wove a willow pig and was on a live radio broadcast chatting about willow. Simone ran very popular fish weaving workshops for children. Quite a few dads enjoyed helping their children to weave.

Mowbray School, Bedale

We worked with children at Mowbray School, Bedale today as part of their Summer Activities Scheme. The children all worked together to create this happy sun. They also made a willow fish and star to take home. The sun will be displayed at the school.

Baskets in Sardinia

Here is a picture of some baskets made in Alghero, Sardinia a couple of years ago. All of the weaving material was gathered locally and the baskets were made in the yard outside the basketmakers home. the whole area had been redeveloped a few years later with no sign of the basketmaker

WILLOW WEAVING WORKSHOPS

WILLOW REPAIRS

Here's a picture of a fairly typical neglected dome in a school playground. we are easily able to repair such a structure and completely transform it.
We will be at Southport Flower Show next weekend and Priddy Sheep Fair, Somerset next Wednesday.

Surestart Project

Here is a link to a news article about a SURESTART project that we did in the summer. Our next event is at Priddy Sheep Fair, Somerset next Wednesday. At the moment Steve is working on making a giraffe sculpture
