Fish Weaving in Brittany

We have just returned from a great 2 weeks in Brittany. We met many local artists in the Finistaire area and worked with Marc Morvan at an Organic Food Fair in Hanvec.
Our friend Cathy who runs the village shop in Hanvec arranged for us to work with the children at both village schools. It was really good to work with the children and we all had an enjoyable time trying to conmmunicate with each other. Luckily Cathy was on hand to interpret.
The Organic Fair was a great hit and we enjoyed the live music of Robin Foster, a friend from Kendal who now lives in Brittany and is quite a star in the area. We are now preparing for our school work in the UK and have some availability in January and February for living willow work.

New willow growth

Here is a picture of our new willow bed planted after we were evicted from our allotments by kendal town council. We were lucky enough to meet some local people who appreciated our work who helped us get re established. We felt vindicated when we were lucky enough to be awarded best rural craft display at westmorland county show. We are teaching at 2 schools in brittany next week and taking part in an organic food fair.
